Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Oracle Applications DBA (E-Business Suite) to join our support team. The role involves managing, supporting, and administering
Oracle E-Business Suite (R12/12.2.x) environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. The consultant will work on
incident management, performance tuning, patching, cloning, upgrades, and environment support in a global, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for Oracle E-Business Suite R12/12.2.x environments.
- Manage and support day-to-day DBA activities: monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Perform cloning, patching, upgrades, and environment refreshes.
- Support EBS application tiers (Web, Forms, Concurrent Processing) and database tiers.
- Troubleshoot issues in workflow, concurrent programs, patch failures, and application performance.
- Administer Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c) including backup/recovery, RMAN, and Data Guard.
- Work with development teams on customization migrations, RICEW objects, and DB object deployments.
- Manage security, user management, and responsibilities in Oracle EBS.
- Coordinate with Oracle Support (SRs) for product-related issues and bug fixes.
- Support disaster recovery drills, high availability, and performance tuning initiatives.
- Document standard procedures, patch logs, and operational manuals.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotation schedule.
Required Skills & Experience
- 712 years of Oracle Apps DBA experience in production support environments.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite R12/12.2.x architecture (application + database tiers).
- Expertise in:
- Patching, cloning, upgrades, and migrations
- Concurrent Manager, Workflow, Forms & WebLogic administration
- Oracle Database administration (11g/12c/19c)
- Backup/recovery using RMAN
- Experience in performance tuning (SQL, DB, and application level).
- Handling Linux/Unix environments and expert knowledge of Shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience in support/AMS projects with ticketing and SLA-based delivery.
- Strong problem-solving and client communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
- Knowledge of Exadata administration.
- Exposure to Fusion Middleware (SOA, OID, OAM).
Familiarity with
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or EBS Lift & Shift projects
