We are looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to support deployment, integration,
testing, and validation activities for Oracle's Policy Control and Charging solutions,
including:
- PCF (Policy Control Function)
- PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function)
The candidate will work closely with development, deployment, and customer
engineering teams to validate policy control workflows, execute integration and
interoperability testing, and support cloud-native deployments in Kubernetes-based
environments. This role requires strong knowledge of 5G/4G policy architecture,
Diameter and HTTP/2 protocols, and hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and interoperability testing for Oracle
- PCF and PCRF network functions across 5G SA and 4G EPC environments.
- Validate customer-specific policy rules, charging configurations, and deployment
- scenarios in lab and production-like environments.
- Support end-to-end installation, configuration, deployment, upgrade, and patching
- of cloud-native PCF/PCRF applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.
- Execute and validate 5G policy signaling flows including N7, N15, N28, and 4G
- Diameter interfaces such as Gx, Gy, Rx, and Sd.
- Analyze logs, traces, KPIs, and signaling captures to identify, troubleshoot, and
- resolve policy and charging issues.
- Participate in customer deployment, migration, and upgrade activities for
- PCF/PCRF platforms.
- Work within Kubernetes and OpenShift environments for containerized CNF
- deployments, scaling, and health monitoring.
- Develop and execute automation scripts to streamline testing and operational
- tasks.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and customer engineering teams for issue
- resolution and feature validation.
- Prepare test plans, test cases, deployment guides, and validation reports for PCF/PCRF engagements.
- Support defect tracking, root cause analysis, and fix verification activities.
Required Technical Skills
Policy & Charging Domain
- Strong understanding of 5G Policy Control architecture — PCF, N7/N15/N28 interfaces, and PCC rule management.
- Hands-on experience with 4G PCRF, Diameter protocol stack, and interfaces — Gx, Gy, Rx, Sd, and Sy.
- Good knowledge of DRA routing, Diameter peer management, and session binding.
- Understanding of QoS policies, traffic shaping, bandwidth management, and subscriber-level policy enforcement.
- Familiarity with online/offline charging flows and CHF integration.
5G Core & Protocol Knowledge
- Good understanding of 5G Service-Based Architecture (SBA), HTTP/2, and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of 5G SA call flows including PDU session establishment and policy association procedures.
- Basic understanding of NRF service discovery and SCP communication proxy functions.
- Cloud Native & Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker/Containers, Helm Charts, and cloud-native CNF deployments.
- Experience with pod lifecycle management, namespace monitoring, scaling, and Kubernetes cluster troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with OpenShift for containerized PCF/PCRF workload management.
Scripting & Automation(Not Mandatory)
- Basic to intermediate scripting skills in Shell and Python.
- Ability to build automation utilities for test execution, log analysis, and operational reporting.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch for PCF/PCRF
- performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with Wireshark and TCPDump for Diameter and HTTP/2 signaling
- analysis.
- Experience with Private cloud platforms — Openstack, VMware,Openshift.
- Knowledge of YAML/JSON configuration management for CNF deployments.
