Job Summary
The Optical Optometrist is responsible for providing expert guidance on lens and spectacle selection while ensuring high-quality customer service. This role involves counseling patients on optical solutions, assisting in sales, performing necessary spectacle-related procedures, and conducting comprehensive eye check-ups. The Optical Optometrist must ensure compliance with hospital standards and maintain accurate records of sales, customer interactions, and eye examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales:
- Provide expert counseling on lens and spectacle selection based on customer needs and preferences.
- Suggest suitable frames based on face shape, size, and customer requirements.
- Communicate promotional offers related to optical sales to customers.
- Handle and clarify customer inquiries and concerns effectively.
- Ensure proper usage instructions are provided to customers.
- Assist bystanders with minor optical services such as cleaning and nose pad changes free of cost.
- Eye Examination & Consultation:
- Conduct comprehensive eye check-ups
- Assess vision problems and recommend suitable corrective measures.
- Prescribe appropriate lenses and spectacles based on the examination results.
- Identify any signs of ocular diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Educate patients on eye health, proper spectacle care, and the importance of regular check-ups.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Follow the daily work schedule and maintain a professional appearance.
- Arrive on time, clean the sales counter, and maintain the display of frames.
- Conduct a physical count of frames and sunglasses and report to the supervisor.
- Arrange frames in the display according to price range.
- Ensure job card filling, billing entry, sale order creation, fitting process entry, and sale slip entry are completed accurately.
- Perform spectacle dispensing, quality checking, and basic spectacle repairing.
- Verify IPD marking process and neutralize camp spectacles as required.
- Coordination & Reporting:
- Coordinate with concerned staff regarding the delivery, courier, and resale process of spectacles.
- Maintain and update daily and monthly reports, including:
- Daily Optical Performance Report
- Daily Individual Sales & Fitting Performance Report
- Monthly Optical & Individual Sales Performance Reports
- Monthly Individual Fitting Report
- Handle customer complaints, update the complaint register, and report to the Optical Manager.
- Coordinate with the supervisor for stock-taking activities.
- Customer Follow-up & Satisfaction:
- Guide customers to the optometrist for final spectacle checks and comfort confirmation before delivery.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high-quality service and addressing their concerns.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain and update records such as the camp spectacle verification register.
- Update the leave through KEKA HRMS
- Assist with tasks assigned by the Branch Manager (BM) or HR as required.
