Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad for an Optical Engineer. The role involves designing and developing advanced optical systems for spaceborne applications, including optical modeling, analysis, and simulation. The candidate will be responsible for optical tolerancing, detector integration, and implementing calibration methodologies to ensure high-performance imaging systems. The role requires close collaboration with electronics, mechanical and computer science teams to optimize system performance and payload design. The engineer will also support integration, testing, calibration, and validation of optical systems to meet mission requirements and ensure data quality.

Qualifications

Experience (min. 2 years) with space-based optical systems, remote sensing (preferred)

Strong systems design and physics background

Master's in Optics / Opto-electronics / Electronics / Engineering Physics (preferred)

Experience in handling complex optical and electro-optical assemblies

Hands-on experience with optical tolerancing and calibration techniques

Exposure to detector integration and imaging system validation

Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
