Job Description
Senior Hardcoat & AR Coating Technician
Frank Vision, Inc. | Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu | Full-time | On-site
We are looking for an experienced Senior Hardcoat & AR Coating Technician who can independently handle both Hardcoat and Anti-Reflective (AR) coating operations for ophthalmic lenses.
The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of coating processes, machine operation, troubleshooting, and coating-defect analysis and should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Independently operate and manage Hardcoat and AR coating processes for ophthalmic lenses.
Perform machine setup, process monitoring, and daily production activities.
Troubleshoot Hardcoat and AR coating machines and identify process-related problems.
Identify and troubleshoot coating defects such as peeling, poor adhesion, scratches, pinholes, spots, color variation, haze, uneven coating, and other quality issues.
Monitor process parameters such as temperature, humidity, viscosity, curing conditions, vacuum level, deposition rate, plasma cleaning, and coating cycle parameters.
Carry out basic preventive maintenance and coordinate machine maintenance when required.
Analyze coating failures and implement corrective actions to improve quality, yield, and production efficiency.
Maintain proper process records and follow quality and safety procedures.
Support process improvement, new coating trials, and production troubleshooting.
Train and guide junior technicians when required.
Candidate Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience in ophthalmic lens Hardcoat and/or AR coating.
Strong practical knowledge of both Hardcoat and AR coating processes is preferred.
Ability to independently troubleshoot machines and coating defects.
Experience with vacuum coating / evaporation equipment and AR coating processes will be an advantage.
Good understanding of ophthalmic lens manufacturing and coating quality requirements.
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for production and quality.
