Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing and managing the operational risk framework within the organization. This role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks to ensure the organization operates in a secure and compliant manner. The Operational Risk Lead will collaborate with various departments to implement risk management strategies and foster a culture of risk awareness.
Risk Identification and Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential operational risks. Analyze existing processes and systems to identify vulnerabilities and potential points of failure. Work with relevant stakeholders to assess the impact and likelihood of identified risks.
Risk Mitigation and Control: Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and control measures. Collaborate with business units to ensure the timely and effective implementation of risk controls. Monitor and report on the status of risk mitigation efforts.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and update operational risk management policies and procedures. Ensure that policies are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Communicate policies to relevant stakeholders and provide guidance on implementation.
Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions to raise awareness of operational risks and the importance of risk management. Work with teams to build a strong risk culture, promoting accountability and ownership of risk within the organization.
Incident Management: Develop and maintain an incident response plan for operational risk events. Coordinate responses to operational incidents, ensuring timely resolution and analysis of root causes.
Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and metrics to monitor the organization's risk profile. Prepare regular reports for senior management and relevant committees on the status of operational risk management activities.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to operational risk. Ensure that the organization's operational risk management practices align with regulatory requirements.
The Successful Applicant
- 7+ years of experience in operational risk management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and evaluate risks effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
