Embedded Hardware Senior Engineer
We're looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer with 510 years of experience to design and develop robust electronic hardware platforms for industrial control systems used in fire detection, suppression systems, and other safety-critical industrial environments.
This role focuses on industrial-grade hardware, electro-mechanical control interfaces, networking systems, and low-power RF integration in high-reliability environments. The engineer will own overall design and implementation, support firmware integration, and contribute to system validation and regulatory compliance in industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Hardware Architecture
- Develop hardware platforms for safety-critical and high-reliability deployments.
- Create documentation for hardware development life cycle.
- Analog/digital circuit design and microcontroller or microprocessor-based system design
- Create schematics and PCB architectures for microcontroller or microprocessor-based industrial control systems.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional system architecture discussions.
Electro-Mechanical Control Interfaces
- Design driver circuits for Motors (BLDC, stepper, AC), Solenoids and valves, Relays and contactors, Circuit breakers and protection devices
- Implement isolation techniques (optocouplers, digital isolators).
- Design fault detection, protection circuits, and safe-state hardware logic.
Networking & Communication Hardware
- Design RS485/RS232 interfaces with proper termination and isolation.
- Implement Ethernet interfaces and industrial communication transceivers.
- Support Modbus and TCP/IP-based control systems.
Low-Power RF Integration
- Integrate wireless modules for Zigbee, BLE, LoRa / Sub-GHz mesh
- Apply RF layout best practices for industrial environments.
- Support antenna matching, range validation, and certification.
Power & Protection Systems
- Design power supplies including Universal input 1- or 3-phase AC-DC SMPS, Wide input range DC systems, Industrial surge protection, Reverse polarity protection, Battery backup interfaces
- Perform thermal and power integrity analysis.
Validation & Compliance
- Lead board bring-up and root cause analysis.
- Support UL, ULC, FM, VDS, LPCB, IEC, NEC, FCC, and CE compliance efforts.
- Ensure design meets industrial EMI/EMC standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: 510 years in electronics hardware development for industrial electronics hardware design.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related.
- Strong expertise in industrial IO and control hardware, mixed-signal design, protection and isolation design, multi-layer PCB layout.
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical driver circuits, RS485/RS232, Modbus, industrial networking, low-power RF module integration (Zigbee, BLE, Sub-GHz), EMI/EMC design practices
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system-level thinking skills.
- Prior experience in regulated, safety-critical, or high-reliability domains preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
