Primary title: Consultant Ophthalmologist
Healthcare — Clinical Ophthalmology and Eye Care Services within a tertiary/multi‑specialty hospital network in India. We deliver comprehensive outpatient, inpatient and surgical ophthalmic care using modern diagnostic imaging and operating theatre facilities. This on-site consultant role focuses on high-quality clinical outcomes, patient safety, and teaching/mentoring junior staff.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient ophthalmic consultations, diagnoses and treatment plans across anterior and posterior segment disorders.
- Perform elective and emergency ophthalmic surgeries—primarily phacoemulsification with IOL implantation—and manage perioperative care to ensure optimal visual outcomes.
- Conduct laser procedures (e.g., Nd:YAG capsulotomy, SLT) and minor oculoplastic/eyelid procedures as required by the unit.
- Interpret and act on diagnostic imaging including OCT, fundus photography and visual fields to guide management and referrals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, follow infection control and surgical safety protocols, and participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior clinicians, optometrists and support staff; contribute to continuing medical education and outreach screening programmes.

Qualifications
- MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant State Medical Council.
- Consultant-level clinical experience in a hospital setting with proven surgical case log in cataract/phacoemulsification.
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support); ACLS preferred.
