Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Ophthalmologist role based in Ahmedabad. The Ophthalmologist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide medical and surgical treatment as appropriate. Daily responsibilities include assessing patient history, interpreting diagnostic tests, recommending treatment plans, and performing ophthalmic procedures, including laser treatments and surgeries as per expertise. The role also involves coordinating with optometrists and other clinical staff, documenting care accurately, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards. The Ophthalmologist is expected to contribute to patient education, participate in quality improvement activities, and support the hospital's standards of compassionate, evidence-based care.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine with the ability to diagnose and manage systemic conditions related to eye health.
- Clinical experience in Ophthalmology, including comprehensive eye examinations, disease management, and patient counseling.
- Proficiency in Optometry-related assessments such as refraction, visual acuity evaluation, and prescription of corrective lenses.
- Hands-on experience with Laser procedures relevant to ophthalmic care, with a focus on safety and precision.
- Competence in Ophthalmic Surgery, including pre-operative evaluation, intraoperative decision-making, and post-operative care.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Ophthalmology (MS/MD/DNB or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
