About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor with a strong background in transportation and industrial gas logistics. The ideal candidate should have prior experience handling operations for companies such as Linde India, Praxair India, Air Water India, or similar industrial gas organizations.
The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day transportation operations, vehicle deployment, driver management, safety compliance, and customer coordination to ensure smooth branch operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations for industrial gas cylinders and bulk gas movements.
- Coordinate vehicle placement, dispatch, loading, unloading, and timely deliveries.
- Supervise drivers, loaders, and support staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
- Monitor fleet utilization, trip planning, route management, and vehicle productivity.
- Coordinate with customers, plant personnel, and transport management teams.
- Maintain records related to dispatches, vehicle movements, driver attendance, and trip reports.
- Handle emergency situations, breakdowns, delivery delays, and operational escalations.
- Ensure proper documentation, including e-way bills, delivery challans, permits, and transport records.
- Conduct driver briefings and safety toolbox talks regularly.
- Monitor driver behavior, discipline, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and operational issues.
- Maintain branch-level operational KPIs and service performance standards.
- Support management in achieving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction targets.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline preferred.
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in transportation operations.
- Mandatory experience in handling industrial gas, cylinder transportation, or hazardous goods logistics.
- Prior experience working with customers such as Linde, Praxair, Air Water, Air Liquide, INOX, Messer, or similar industrial gas companies will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations involving heavy commercial vehicles (10-wheelers, 12-wheelers, platform trucks, cylinder carriers, etc.).
- Good understanding of transport documentation and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage drivers, loaders, and field staff effectively.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Email, ERP/Transport Management Systems).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational activities simultaneously.
