Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong Operations & Installation Manager to lead all rooftop solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) activities across Solis Green Synergy's dynamic project portfolio. This is a leadership position where you'll drive end-to-end project execution, manage large field teams, maintain exceptional quality standards, and deliver measurable results across residential, commercial, and industrial solar installations.

If you have 10–12 years of hands-on solar EPC experience and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Site Management You will own the complete lifecycle of rooftop solar projects—from initial site survey and design finalization through installation, commissioning, and client handover. This includes conducting detailed roof load analysis, shadow studies, tilt angle optimization, and structural feasibility assessments. You'll plan and manage multi-site project schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery without compromising on quality or safety. You'll also supervise the installation of PV modules, mounting structures, inverters (string, central, and micro configurations), DC/AC cabling, earthing systems, lightning arrestors, and monitoring infrastructure. Additionally, you'll manage the administrative side—DISCOM approvals, net metering applications, grid synchronization processes, and subsidy applications under schemes like PM Surya Ghar Yojana and MNRE programmes.

Technical Leadership Your technical expertise will be critical. You'll review and approve all PV system designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for every project. You must ensure strict compliance with BIS standards, CEA regulations, IEC 61215/61730 (module standards), IEC 62109 (inverter standards), and applicable state grid codes. You'll troubleshoot technical issues during both installation and O&M phases—whether it's inverter faults, string performance loss, earthing failures, or monitoring system errors. You'll also validate performance guarantees by assessing yield, Performance Ratio (PR), and Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) benchmarks, and drive corrective actions whenever underperformance is observed.

Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Beyond installation, you'll build and manage comprehensive preventive and corrective O&M programs across all installed sites. This includes scheduling inspections, cleaning cycles, thermal imaging, and IV curve testing. You'll develop customized O&M SLAs with clients and ensure adherence through your field teams and sub-contractors. You'll maintain digital site records, performance logs, and maintenance reports via SCADA and plant monitoring platforms. Your focus will be on reducing system downtime and maximizing energy yield across the entire managed portfolio.

Team & Vendor Management You'll build, train, and lead a multi-disciplinary field team comprising engineers, site supervisors, electricians, and installation technicians. You'll manage sub-contractors and vendors from empanelment and scope-of-work definition through performance monitoring and dispute resolution. Most importantly, you'll enforce rigorous Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols across all sites—including height safety, electrical safety, PPE compliance, and regular toolbox talks.

Client & Stakeholder Management You'll be the primary technical point of contact for clients, from project initiation through warranty support. You'll manage complex relationships with DISCOMs, MNRE authorities, and local government bodies to secure approvals, inspections, and net metering connections. You'll prepare detailed project progress reports, management information systems (MIS), and performance dashboards for senior leadership.

What We're Looking For:

Must Have:

  • 10–12 years of hands-on experience in rooftop solar EPC across India (residential, commercial & industrial, or industrial segments)
  • Proven track record of independently commissioning rooftop solar projects ranging from 10 kWp to 1 MWp and beyond
  • Deep technical knowledge of PV system components: modules, inverters (string, central, micro), mounting structures, DCDB/ACDB, earthing systems, and monitoring infrastructure
  • Proficiency in PV design software: PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools
  • Working knowledge of CEA regulations, BIS standards, MNRE guidelines, and state-specific DISCOM net metering procedures
  • Strong HSE background: Understanding of height safety, electrical safety, and IS:13947 compliance
  • Proven experience managing multi-site field teams and sub-contractors across NCR and pan-India locations
  • Educational qualification: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

Good to Have:

  • Experience with SCADA and IoT-based solar monitoring platforms (SolarEdge, Fronius Solar.web, Solis Cloud, or equivalent)
  • Exposure to hybrid solar systems—rooftop solar combined with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Familiarity with PM Surya Ghar Yojana subsidy processing and documentation
  • Knowledge of wind energy or other renewable energy systems (a valuable differentiator given our multi-energy mandate)
  • ISO 45001 or advanced HSE certifications
  • Prior experience as a Solar Project Manager or Senior Engineer at a recognized EPC firm
  • NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification or equivalent
