About the Role

We're looking for an Operations Manager with hands-on experience in the D2C jewellery/gemstone space to own our end-to-end operations — from vendor sourcing to inventory planning. This is a high-ownership role for someone who already understands how the gemstone/rudraksh/diamond supply chain works in India and has real relationships with vendors across the country.

This is not a generalist ops role — we need someone who's worked inside a D2C jewellery brand before and speaks the language of carats, certification, sourcing cycles, and vendor trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Management: Identify, onboard, and manage vendors/suppliers dealing in rudraksh, gemstones (yellow sapphire, blue sapphire, emerald, ruby, coral, etc.), and diamonds, across various sourcing hubs in India
• Pan-India Sourcing Network: Leverage existing vendor relationships and build new ones to ensure consistent quality, authenticity, and competitive pricing
• Inventory Planning & Strategy: Plan inventory levels basis sales trends, seasonality (festivals, zodiac-based demand spikes), and new product launches; avoid stockouts and overstocking
• Procurement & Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with vendors; ensure certification and quality-check processes are followed
• Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with the fulfillment/logistics team to ensure smooth order-to-delivery flow
• Quality Control: Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on lab-testing/certification requirements before stock is listed for sale
• Cost & Margin Management: Track vendor pricing trends and identify cost-optimization opportunities without compromising authenticity
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the marketing and sales teams to align inventory availability with campaigns, launches, and demand forecasts
• Reporting: Maintain vendor performance trackers, inventory reports, and procurement dashboards for leadership review

What We're Looking For

• 3–4 years of experience in Operations within a D2C jewellery/gemstone brand (mandatory)
• Established vendor network across India for rudraksh, gemstones, and diamonds
• Strong understanding of gemstone/rudraksh sourcing cycles, certification processes, and quality parameters
• Proven experience in inventory planning and demand forecasting in a D2C/e-commerce setup
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of vendor deal-making
• Comfortable working with data — inventory sheets, vendor scorecards, demand trends
• Excellent coordination skills to manage multiple vendors and internal stakeholders simultaneously
• Based in or willing to relocate to Kolkata

Good to Have

• Experience working with certification bodies/gem labs
• Familiarity with astrology-based or purpose-based product categorization (career, health, wealth, relationships, etc.)
• Prior experience in a scaling D2C startup environment
