Job Description

Company Overview

Cheiron (formerly PhnyX Lab) is a Stanford-based AI startup in Silicon Valley, building next-generation AI systems for the biotech, pharma, and medical industries.

Our core product, Cheiron, is a generative AI platform built for biopharma research designed to reason over primary literature, clinical data, regulatory-grade sources, and more with unparalleled traceability and scientific rigor.

Since launching in 2024, Cheiron has achieved rapid international adoption, including capturing 30% market share in the Korean pharma sector within months, while generating meaningful revenue across 5,000+ users and 1,000+ companies.

We are proudly pre-VC, backed by a $6M+ angel round from globally recognized investors, including leaders from the SK and Samsung families and two co-authors of Attention Is All You Need.

The Role

We're seeking a highly organized, proactive Operations Manager to help Cheiron scale its community presence, event strategy, and internal operational systems.

This role sits at the center of Cheiron's external engagement engine. You will be responsible for identifying where biopharma pros naturally gather - tracking and prioritizing high-signal events and communities, while ensuring that all outreach, contacts, and learnings are systematically captured and shared internally.

What You'll Do

Event & Ecosystem Mapping

  • Identify and track high-relevance biotech and life science events across Bay Area and California
  • Source events using platforms such as Luma, Eventbrite, and Meetup, while uncovering additional opportunities through community-driven and non-obvious channels
  • Maintain an events calendar with clear metadata (e.g., audience, cost, location, relevance, timing) for decision-making

Community Discovery & Engagement

  • Research and catalog online and offline communities where biopharma pros actively interact (e.g., Slack groups, LinkedIn communities, Meetups, Discords, Reddit, professional societies)
  • Assess communities relevant to Cheiron's mission, audience quality, engagement level, and opportunity for meaningful participation
  • Support thoughtful, value-driven engagement within select communities to help grow Cheiron's brand presence organically

Internal Operations & Systems

  • Maintain strong CRM and knowledge hygiene across Notion and related tools
  • Centralize contacts, community notes, meeting summaries, and engagement history so information is accurate, searchable, and actionable
  • Build and maintain internal trackers, including: events calendar, community engagement tracker, contacts / CRM tracker, social or outreach activity tracker (as applicable)
  • Support ad hoc operational needs typical of a fast-moving startup environment

Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational and research skills; ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams
  • Strong written communication and documentation habits
  • Comfort working with tools such as Notion, CRM systems, Slack/Discord, and event platforms
  • Attention to detail and consistency in maintaining internal systems
  • Interest in biotechnology, biopharma, and AI-driven research workflows

Compensations & Benefits

This full-time role offers competitive total compensation, determined by experience and role fit. Benefits include healthcare coverage, flexible hybrid work arrangements, and the opportunity to work closely with a world-class interdisciplinary team.
