Operations Manager

The Business Rules Engineering & Strategy team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help design, develop, and enhance robust IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) rule solutions that enable real-time transaction-level decisioning, fraud detection, alerting, and notification capabilities.

This role focuses on embedding intelligence into the transaction lifecycle through advanced rule strategies, behavioral analytics, scoring models, and agile rule development practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to building scalable and high-performance fraud prevention solutions that support Mastercard's global payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical expertise for fraud prediction and transaction monitoring applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain IBM ODM rule applications for mission-critical, high-volume transaction processing environments.
• Build and optimize rule strategies based on customer requirements and established solution architecture standards.
• Implement rule enhancements and modifications using agile development methodologies.
• Validate rule changes against transaction datasets to ensure accuracy, performance, and compliance with quality standards.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable rule-based decisioning solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve rule execution, performance, and application-related issues.
• Work closely with product teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners to deliver innovative fraud management capabilities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance rule deployment velocity, scalability, and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• 2+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in rule-based decision management systems.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) including:
• Decision Center
• Rule Designer
• Rule Execution Server (RES)
• Business Rule Management
• Strong programming skills in Java/J2EE and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade software applications and services.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and automation practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
