Operations & Maintenance Lead-Advanced Metering Infrastructure

Role Description To lead and control end-to-end Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities for large-scale AMI smart metering deployment across Rajasthan under JVVNL project. The role will be responsible for SLA compliance, reduction of Non-Communicating (Non-Com) and Never-Communicating (Never-Com) meters, field operations control, issue resolution coordination with NOMC/HES/MDM teams, and driving operational efficiency through strong field governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead complete statewide O&M activities for AMI project covering smart meters, communication network, gateways, RF/Cellular infrastructure, HES/MDM coordination and field operations.

• Manage and control O&M operations for approx. 11+ lakh smart meter deployment.

• Ensure SLA compliance for meter communication, data availability, billing reads, event/tamper data and system uptime.

• Drive reduction and control of Non-Com and Never-Com meters through structured field action plans.

• Daily monitoring of communication performance and SLA compliance at State, Circle and Division level.

• Take daily Non-Com/Never-Com list from NOMC/HES team and ensure field resolution through technician deployment.

• Ensure restoration of meter communication within defined TAT/SLA timelines.

• Lead and control statewide O&M field workforce including technicians, supervisors and contractors.

• Manage deployment and productivity of 150+ O&M technicians.

• Coordinate with NOMC team for identification of communication failures and system issues.

• Work closely with HES, MDM, RF, SIM/network and IT teams for issue resolution.

• Publish daily O&M dashboard and MIS to management and DISCOM stakeholders.

• Attend review meetings with DISCOM officials and ensure timely issue closure.

• Strong team handling and stakeholder management capability.

• Strong understanding of AMI architecture, HES/MDM systems, smart meter communication and O&M analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or a related field.

• MBA/PGDM in Operations or Project Management will be an added advantage. 

· Experience Required:

• 8–15 years of experience in Smart Metering / AMI / Power Distribution projects.

• Minimum 5 years experience in AMI O&M operations.

• Experience in handling large-scale field operations and SLA-driven projects

· Joining Timeline: Immediate to 30 Days
