Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems.
Ensures full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies (i.e. CEA, CERC, DSA, SCEI, AP/CPCB, Cybersecurity etc. compliances).
Contribute to developing safe systems of work (SSOW) procedures, including HIRA, PTW, LOTO, JSA etc. for your area.
Preparation of generation schedules (day ahead, intraday revisions etc.) and its coordination with internal and external stake holders.
Effective coordination with SLDC / RLDC, CTU, STU, CEA, SCEI etc. as and when required for day-to-day operations of plant.
Achieve generation targets, pumping schedules, and meet SLDC / RLDC instructions. Liaison with SLDC/RLDC, DISCOMs, OEMs, regulatory bodies and government agencies, as and when required.
Preparation and implementation of complete plant operations reports and checklists, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists.
Prepare and manage plant operations budget, work to optimize the costs and maximize production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual operations budgets.
Support billing, PPA compliance, DSM management, and settlements.
Define and monitor operations Plans to achieve yearly Generation targets (including minimization of APC) and yearly agreed Plant/Machines Availability targets.
Delegates and assigns work tasks to operations team to maintain optimum plant operations.
Support O&M head in plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and automation upgrades.
Lead, train and develop operations team at Plant and prepare a detailed training calendar for operations team accordingly.
Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate Operational risks and ensure compliance with internal audits.
Prepares and maintains plant operational records and presents the same to management on need basis.
IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to your area.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical / electrical & electronics engineering.
Advanced certifications in operations management or power generation technologies are preferred.
Proven expertise in operations within hydro power generation sector, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to Hydro/PSP Plants.
Operations experience of large-scale pump storage power plants is preferred.
Experience leading a team of engineers and technicians for large scale hydro/pump storage power Plant operations, as a section head.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant operations and maintenance works.
Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment
