Summary:
As an Operations Engineer, a typical day involves overseeing the smooth functioning of production systems and services, ensuring they meet operational requirements and service agreements. This role requires continuous monitoring, managing delivery processes, and addressing any issues that arise to maintain system reliability and performance. Collaboration with various teams to coordinate operational activities and support service continuity is a key aspect of daily responsibilities, along with proactive identification of potential improvements to enhance system efficiency and service quality.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the areas of Wired Networking and Wireless Networking
- Ability to perform monitoring of various WLAN technologies and topologies
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, with good communication (written and oral) and coordination skills
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and implementation plans.
- Consult with both internal as well as client teams to drive solutions from design to completion.
- Develop action plans to investigate and resolve complex issues/problems and clearly communicate these to engineers, customers and/or relevant managers.
- Participate in after-hours remote support rosters.
- Technical writing skills will be required to publish Issue resolution documents (KM & KT)
- Required to communicate effectively with Technical and Non-Technical stakeholders and should have the ability to drive the conversation/discussion
- Participate/Drive ITIL based change management, Problem management, incident management.
Technical Experience:
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in networking, with a strong background in routing, switching, and network design.
- Proficiency with DNS/DHCP, Load Balancer technologies and solutions.
- Experience with LAN/WAN, Wireless network solutions is highly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) and network infrastructure technologies.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance.
- To recognize the importance of customer focus and/or of serving the needs of the end user.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate with staff who are not technically trained.
- Must be customer focused and have the ability to design and manage solutions to complex technical issues.
- Ability to mentor more junior Systems Engineers in the assigned territory is required.
Professional Attributes:
CCNP, CCNA or equivalent certifications preferred.
Shift Details:
Rotational shifts in 24x7 operations
RTO- 3 days office presence
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 8 years of experience in Network Infrastructures.
- This position is based at our PDC3B - SEZ location.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
