Why this role exists at Unifize right now
Unifize is at a specific inflection point. The coordination tax thesis - the idea that the hidden cost of holding cross-functional work together in regulated processes is measurable, visible, and reducible - is now a working system, not just a theory. The platform is being built. Customers are proving it out. And the founders are running every operational thread themselves alongside it: compliance programmes, onboarding and offboarding, people operations, vendor reviews, the Notion workspace, the change control system. That is not sustainable. This seat exists because Unifize needs someone who can take the operational execution layer and own it - not coordinate around it, not manage a project of it, but own it with two hands and a clear head. This is the entry rung of the Operations Manager path. The right person at grade three will be operating at grade four within twelve to twenty-four months.

What You Will Own
- People operations rhythm. Onboarding and offboarding execution, Employee Directory maintenance, benefits administration, leave and expense policy administration, recruitment coordination. These run on a defined cadence; you own the cadence.
- Operational governance and systems. Controlled documents in the operational domain, change request administration, operational dashboards. You learn the Notion workspace and the change control system in the first ninety days; you maintain and improve them from then on.
- AI-enabled execution. Claude and similar tools as your daily working surface. Workflow automations across Notion, Slack, Gmail, and the document store using n8n or Make. The seat exists partly because AI makes it possible for one person to own three operational domains at once.
- Compliance programme execution. SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR operational programmes - evidence collection, control matrix maintenance, vendor risk reviews, data subject request handling, vendor security questionnaire responses. You are hired for the mindset to learn these frameworks, not prior specialism.
What We Are Looking For
Must-haves
- Something you built with your hands - a Notion workspace, a compliance tracker, an onboarding process, an automation. You can describe it precisely.
- Clear writing. Procedures, summaries, and structured records that are readable without cleanup.
- AI tools every day. Claude or equivalent is part of your working method, not a novelty.
- You close loops without being chased. Ambiguous briefs are problems to solve, not reasons to pause.
- Notion fluency, or the ability to pick it up in a week.
Hard nos
- Candidates whose career is entirely attending meetings with no evidence of hands-on execution.
- Candidates who cannot describe something they personally built.
- Candidates who treat AI tools as optional or experimental.
- Candidates who become uncomfortable when given an ambiguous brief and asked what they would do.
What Excellent Looks Like In Twelve Months
- People operations runs without the founders touching it. Onboarding, offboarding, benefits, leave, the Employee Directory - all owned and executed to a defined cadence.
- The SOC 2 evidence collection programme is audit-ready. The control matrix is maintained.
- At least three workflow automations are running in production, each saving measurable time per week.
- The Notion operational workspace is cleaner and better maintained than when you joined.
- You are making judgment calls on routine operational decisions without escalating.
Career trajectory at Unifize
This is the entry rung of the Operations Manager path. Grade three is where you join; grade four is where you own the function with full independence, typically twelve to twenty-four months from joining. Beyond that the path forks: grade five Manager if the operations function adds direct reports, or lateral into a specialist function as the company grows. Founder's Office proximity is also a real trajectory - people who sit close to how a company operates from the centre go on to Chief of Staff, strategic operations, and general management roles.
Compensation
Base Mid $19,000 (■18L) / Max $21,000 (■20L) per annum. Conversion at ■95 per USD. Variable Standard 90/10 structure with quarterly payout tied to personal performance. Equity Approximately 0.05 to 0.1%, four-year vest, one-year cliff. Location Bangalore, India. Full-time, in-office.
