Job Description
Key areas of responsibility:
- To look after day to day running of Operation theatre & Recovery. To look after overall administration in Operation Theatre.
- Typing of Discharge Summary.
- Scheduling of surgical procedures as per consultant's instruction.
- To plan and maintain staffing pattern for the OT.
- To collaborate with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- To evaluate and set standards for facilities and equipment, and monitor utilization of equipment and supplies.
- To participate in quality assessment and improvement, including utilization and promotion of familiarization quality improvement standard. Review quality improvement reports and integrates appropriate action
- To communicate with patient and health professionals regarding care to the patient.
- To accurately and promptly complete documentation relating to all patient's records.
- To ensure smooth running and maintenance of equipments:
- To ensure availability, maintenance & repair of equipment with the help of Bio - Medical Department.
II. Ensure maintenance of sterility of Operation Theatre & Instruments used in operation Theatre.
III. Upkeep of Operation Theatre documentation
- To ensure optimum manpower planning of OT staff:
- To assign duty / posting of operation theatre and Recovery personnel.
II. To approve leave of staff as per requirement and availability of staff.
III To maintain job description of operation theatre staff with the help of Human Resource department.
IV. To handle & escalate when necessary issues of operation theatre personnel.
- To ensure smooth optimum utilization of running of Operation Theatre and Recovery.
- To ensure proper billing of patient in operation theatre.
- To ensure the disposal of Clinic Waste in accordance with guidelines.
- To ensure induction and training of new staff and in the instruction in the use and care of new equipment.
- To implement Health and Safety procedures within the Theatre Area.
- To adhere to policies on infection control practices.
- To treat all communication about patients, staff, and other organizational business confidentially.
- To be involved in quality Assurance / Quality control activities.
- To perform all the jobs as may be assigned due to exigencies of work.
- Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement.
