Brief Job Description:
We are looking for a technically strong and results-driven Assistant Manager – Operations & Maintenance to manage the remote performance oversight of large-scale Solar PV power plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) from Solon India's Head Office in Hyderabad. With 6–10 years of hands-on O&M experience, ideally with an Electrical Engineering background, you will be the central technical backbone for our multi-site solar portfolio — monitoring plant performance via SCADA, remotely diagnosing and resolving technical issues, guiding site O&M teams, and ensuring all contractual SLAs and client commitments are met on time. You will be instrumental in BESS monitoring, troubleshooting, and OEM coordination, while driving Preventive Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement across all assets. This role demands strong leadership, the ability to manage client escalations under pressure, and the capacity to deliver results across a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. If you are a proactive, technically sound professional who thrives in a dynamic solar O&M setting, we invite you to apply and power your professional journey with us.

Centralized Plant Performance Management
1. Monitor daily generation, PR, CUF, availability, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for multiple solar power plants (Rooftop and Ground Mount) using SCADA and MIS systems.
2. Analyze performance trends, identify deviations, and initiate proactive corrective action plans to ensure optimal plant performance.
3. Ensure the achievement of contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs), uptime, and generation guarantees across all assigned projects.
4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reduce losses, and optimize energy output.

2. Review Daily Performance Reports (DPRs), Monthly Performance Reports (MPRs), incident reports, breakdown analyses, and maintenance logs.
3. Standardize O&M practices, reporting formats, and maintenance schedules to ensure consistency and efficiency across all sites.
4. Provide real-time remote technical troubleshooting support to Site In-Charges and O&M technicians, diagnosing faults in solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, protection relays, and BESS units using SCADA data, alarms, and remote diagnostic tools.
5. Establish and maintain a structured remote support protocol — including escalation matrices, response time standards, and issue-resolution checklists — to ensure site teams receive timely guidance during breakdowns and critical events.
6. Conduct periodic site visits for audits, performance reviews, and team competency assessments. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of O&M engineers and site supervisors — setting clear performance expectations, conducting periodic reviews, and building technical competency across the team.
7. Develop and enforce standardized O&M Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials to ensure uniformity and quality across all site operations.
Maintenance Strategy & Asset Reliability
1. Review and approve comprehensive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all plant assets.
2. Ensure timely resolution of breakdowns, conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement effective solutions.
3. Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and vendors for warranty claims, major repairs, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).

5. Manage critical spares inventory and optimize availability to minimize plant downtime.
BESS Operations & Troubleshooting
1. Monitor Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) performance parameters including State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), round-trip efficiency, charge/discharge cycles, and thermal management from the corporate operations centre.
2. Remotely diagnose BESS faults and alarms via the Battery Management System (BMS) and SCADA and provide structured troubleshooting guidance to site teams for timely resolution.
3. Coordinate with BESS OEMs and technology partners for firmware updates, warranty claims, major fault resolution, and AMC compliance.
4. Review and approve BESS-specific preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence to safety protocols for high-voltage battery systems.
5. Analyse BESS degradation trends and prepare periodic health reports with recommendations to optimize battery life and performance.
Client Relationship & Contract Management
1. Act as the primary Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for end clients, fostering strong, trust-based relationships and ensuring consistent client satisfaction across all assigned projects.
2. Present detailed monthly performance reports, incident summaries, root cause analyses, and improvement action plans to clients in a clear and professional manner.
3. Handle client escalations, complaints, and high-pressure situations with composure and urgency — providing timely, solution-oriented responses and ensuring all client commitments and deadlines are met without fail.
4. Proactively manage risks related to SLA breaches, penalty clauses, and generation shortfalls — identifying issues early and initiating corrective actions before they impact client relations.
5. Coordinate and manage client audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled on time and to the required standard.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
1. Collaborate closely with Projects and Commissioning teams to ensure seamless handover of new plants into O&M.

2. Review and standardize safety practices and incident reporting systems, promoting a strong culture of safety.
3. Maintain centralized MIS dashboards and performance databases for accurate tracking and reporting.
4. Prepare consolidated weekly and monthly O&M performance reports, providing management with key insights and recommendations for plant optimization.
