We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Offshore Design Engineer with 26 years of
experience in mechanical and structural design for offshore applications. The role involves
supporting the engineering team in developing 3D models, performing structural/FEA
assessments, and preparing lifting & handling plans for offshore equipment and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive 3D models and engineering designs for mechanical and
structural components using SolidWorks.
Prepare detailed lift plans, including rigging equipment selection, ensuring all lifting
configurations meet project safety and engineering requirements.
Review lift plans for compliance with preferred industry standards and codes
(DNV, API, ISO, client specifications), ensuring safe, practical, and code-compliant
lifting operations.
Perform structural calculations and engineering assessments for various
components after evaluating their load paths, functional behavior, interface
connections, and operational constraints.
Conduct FEA and structural/fatigue analysis using ANSYS Workbench and
Mathcad, generating analytical justification and ensuring design soundness.
Execute local structural checksincluding weld strength, bolt sizing, pin
shear/bearing verification, padeye design, lug analysis, and connection detailing
strictly in line with applicable offshore standards.
Carry out feasibility studies using CAD models, fabrication drawings, and
engineering data to assess constructability, installation methods, rigging
requirements, and overall technical viability.
Interpret and verify fabrication drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy,
manufacturability, and compliance with engineering and client requirements.
Collaborate in material handling studies and support the development of
engineering documents related to lifting, rigging, and transportation operations.
Conduct crane load calculations per relevant standards and execute structural
assessment of crane booms and related load-bearing elements.
Perform crane life extension studies, assessing structural fatigue, accumulated
load history, and compliance with updated operational criteria.
Develop modular, lightweight design solutions focused on improved
manufacturability, ease of installation, weight optimization, and enhanced
operational efficiency.
Prepare high-quality technical reports, calculation packages, design documents,
and engineering deliverables in accordance with project and industry standards.
Participate actively in design reviews, supporting the evaluation of structural
integrity, design adequacy, installation feasibility, and fabrication readiness.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in projects involving lifting
engineering, rigging studies, structural design, and equipment assessments.
Continuously learn and adopt new tools, standards, and design methodologies to
support evolving project scopes and enhance engineering capability.
