Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: 100% Remote - India

Employment Type: 6-12 months contract (With Extension)

Working Hours: UK Working Hours

About the Role

We're supporting a UK-based organisation with a growing Data & Analytics function, looking for an experienced Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines and trusted data products.

You'll work closely with technical and business teams, transforming data into reliable assets that support reporting, analytics and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources
• Develop governed datasets and data models for analytics and Power BI
• Optimise pipeline performance and follow CI/CD and version-control practices
• Support data quality, governance, security and compliance
• Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business

Required Experience

• Strong experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud data platform experience
• Strong SQL
• Experience with Python / PySpark
• Data modelling and data warehousing concepts
• Hands-on Power BI experience, including datasets and semantic models
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Good understanding of data quality, governance and security

Nice to Have

• DAX, M (Power Query) and KQL
• GDPR / ISO27001 exposure
• Experience with machine learning data requirements
• Experience coaching or mentoring other data professionals
