Job Description (JD)
1. Tool Room Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise all tool room activities related to manufacturing of switches and electrical components.
- Ensure timely design, development, repair, and maintenance of molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Maintain availability of tools required for Injection Molding, Press Shop, and Assembly operations.
2. New Tool Development
- Coordinate with Product Design, R&D, and Production teams for development of new molds and tools for switch products.
- Review tool designs and ensure manufacturability, durability, and cost effectiveness.
- Monitor trial runs, modifications, and tool approvals.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of molds, and tooling equipment.
- Troubleshoot tooling problems affecting production quality or productivity.
- Implement corrective actions to reduce tool failure and downtime.
4. Quality Assurance
- Ensure tooling meets required specifications, tolerances, and product quality standards.
- Work closely with QA department to resolve defects related to tooling.
5. Manpower Management
- Supervise tool room technicians, tool makers, operators, and staff.
- Plan manpower deployment and provide technical training and skill development.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Implement tool life improvement, cycle time reduction, and process improvements.
- Apply Lean manufacturing / Kaizen / TPM practices in tool room operations.
7. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain proper records of tool / drawings, maintenance history, and tooling database.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and factory regulations.
Job Requirements / Qualifications Education
- NTL / Tool Engineering/ CIPET – Mould Technology
- 7-8 Years experience in Tool Room operations in switch / electrical / plastic injection moulding industry
- Minimum 02 years in supervisory or managerial role Technical Skills
- Expertise in Injection Mold Tools for Switch Components
- Knowledge of Jigs, Fixtures, and Gauges
- Experience with CNC machines, EDM, Wire Cut, Milling, Grinding
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM tools (Creo, AutoCAD etc.)
