Functional Roles & Responsibility
- Receiving & organizing seed to be tested (physically as well as in system)
- Conduct disease diagnostics, seed health testing as required. Evaluate and report on Seed Health testing activities.
- To give timely and reliable results of given quality test
- Conduct Seed Health Testing for different samples as per recommended protocols.
- Conduct different diagnosis method- ELISA; Blotter Paper method, Dilution & Pour Plate method.
- Conduct Molecular test for seedborne pathogens with international protocols
- Knowledge of DNA extraction, PCR etc is must
- ELISA: Sample preparation; Buffer preparation; Conduct ELISA test.
- Dilution Pour Plate Method: Media preparation; Inoculation.
- Blotter Paper method: Material incubation; Maintenance
- Sterile technique for culture transfers.
- Maintain testing data from different diagnosis.
- Maintenance of pure culture of different pathogens
- Conduct grow out test for seed health.
- Planning the work for grow out test- Sowing; Seedling maintenance; Inoculation; Observation; Data maintenance.
- Planning for judicious use of resources.
- Maintenance/ Cleanliness/hygiene of Seed Health Lab; Poly house.
- Take care of internal calibration of critical equipment
- Participate in internal proficiency test/ring test
- Monitor and verify that resources (facilities, equipment and supplies, testing capacity and personnel) are operational
- Knowledge of NABL/ISTA /ISO documentation accreditation will be preferred
Administrative Roles & Responsibility
- Assist in supervision of workers when required.
- Documentation and record keeping.
- Ensure safe working environment for self and workmen/work women
Financial Roles & Responsibility
- Cost effective work management, utilization of available resources for maximum output, measure return on investments made, economic usage of inputs.
Working on sample testing cost analysis per crop.
OtherRoles & Responsibility, if any
- Responsible for taking proactive approaches for continuous improvement in seed health testing.
Required Experiences :
Hand on experience of 2-3 Years in seed health testingor plant pathology laboratory. Knowledge of molecular techniques like DNA/RNA extraction, PCR is must.
Working experience in ISO/ISTA/NABL accredited labs will be preferred.
Education Qualification:
- Msc. Agri Plant Pathology
Work Experience:
- 3-4 Yrs of experience in Seed company with relevant experience
