Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting children's developmental growth and independence. The ideal candidate will work closely with children, families, and educators to assess and address sensory, motor, and functional challenges. He/She will play a key role in helping children build essential life skills through individualized therapy plans in a child-friendly, multidisciplinary pediatric environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments focusing on sensory processing, fine motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities in children.
  2. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's developmental needs and goals.
  3. Provide therapy sessions that support improvement in daily living skills, sensory regulation, handwriting readiness, play skills, and motor coordination.
  4. Work collaboratively with pediatricians, psychologists, speech therapists, and other specialists to provide integrated care.
  5. Educate and guide parents on home programs, strategies, and activities to reinforce therapy goals.
  6. Conduct sensory screenings and developmental assessments in clinics, preschools, and community settings.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, therapy plans, and progress notes.
  8. Participate in parent education sessions, workshops, and school outreach initiatives related to child development and sensory health.
  9. Ensure therapy environments are safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for children.
  10. Stay updated with current evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the All India Occupational Therapists Association (AIOTA) or relevant licensing body is preferred.
  • 25 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy is desirable.
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Strong observation, assessment, and therapeutic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sensory integration therapy and child development.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with children and families.
  • Creative and play-based approach to therapy.
  • Patient, empathetic, and child-centric mindset.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary pediatric care environment.
