About The Role
P&G Health Limited is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join our team. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive health services to our employees at the PGHL Corporate Office in Mumbai and across our sales workforce dispersed throughout India. The primary focus of this role is to promote and maintain employee health and well-being, ensuring a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting health assessments, managing work-related injuries and illnesses, and implementing health promotion initiatives aligned with organizational goals. This role requires a proactive approach to occupational health management, collaboration with various teams, and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a BSc Nursing or GNM Nursing qualification with an active and valid license/registration with the Maharashtra Nursing Council. Candidates holding a postgraduate certificate, diploma, or degree in healthcare management will be preferred, as they bring added expertise in health program administration. A minimum of two years of prior experience in an occupational health setting or industrial health center is essential, demonstrating familiarity with workplace health protocols and procedures. Proficiency in medical terminology, medical testing procedures, and an understanding of occupational health laws and regulations are crucial for effective service delivery. Additionally, candidates should have demonstrated skills in disaster management, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and health promotion strategies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, are vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for conducting health assessments and providing primary care for work-related injuries and illnesses, ensuring compliance with established medical testing protocols. Developing, implementing, and evaluating occupational health programs aimed at promoting employee well-being and preventing workplace hazards will be a core function. The role involves designing impactful employee engagement initiatives that support organizational health objectives. Collaborating with management and safety teams on hazard recognition and risk assessment processes is essential to create a safer work environment. The nurse will lead and participate in disaster preparedness and disaster management initiatives, including developing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
Providing empathetic communication and counseling to employees regarding health concerns, work-related stress, and return-to-work programs is a key aspect of this role. Ensuring compliance with all relevant occupational health laws and maintaining accurate, confidential medical records are critical responsibilities. Applying advanced occupational health practice principles to guide decision-making and service delivery will help optimize health outcomes. The nurse will contribute to enhancing overall health and productivity by implementing proactive health promotion and preventative measures. Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration skills, is necessary to achieve shared organizational goals. Additionally, utilizing in-depth medical terminology to accurately document and communicate health information will support effective health management.
