Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Reporting Developer to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will bridge the gap between technical data development and business requirements. You will be primarily responsible for designing, developing, and testing robust OBIEE and BI Publisher reports, while utilizing your Argus Safety domain knowledge to interface with end-users, gather requirements, and own the full documentation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities & Role Expectations
1. Report Development & Technical Execution
- Primary Focus: Design, develop, customize, and maintain complex operational and analytical reports using OBIEE and BI Publisher.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from the Argus Safety database.
- Ensure reporting solutions are scalable, performant, and meet strict compliance and data integrity standards.
2. Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, Business Analysts, and end-users to understand reporting needs.
- Translate ambiguous business requests into clear, actionable technical specifications.
- Lead workshops or interviews with stakeholders to map out data requirements.
3. Documentation & Compliance Lifecycle
- Own the end-to-end documentation process, ensuring all artifacts are audit-ready.
- Draft comprehensive Requirements Documents, Report Specifications (Specs), and User Guides.
- Develop technical and non-technical documentation, including Test Scripts and Change Summaries for system updates or modifications.
4. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define testing strategies and execute thorough Unit, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate data accuracy between source systems (Argus) and the front-end BI reports.
- Log, track, and manage defects and feature requests using JIRA (or an equivalent project management tool).
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- BI & Reporting: Strong hands-on experience with OBIEE and BI Publisher development.
- Database: Advanced SQL skills (query tuning, joins, subqueries, and views).
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Argus Safety (database structure, tables, and pharmacovigilance workflows).
- Tools: Proficiency with JIRA or equivalent Agile project management and bug-tracking software.
Functional & Soft Skills
- Requirements Gathering: Proven ability to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
- Testing Rigor: Demonstrated experience writing and executing detailed test cases/scripts.
- Strong Documentation: Exceptional technical writing skills with an eye for detail (User Guides, Change Summaries, Report Specs).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholder
