The System Validation Engineer will be responsible for validating diagnostic, OBD2, OBDonUDS, and ZEVonUDS functionalities across SiL platforms and other test environments. The role requires strong expertise in automotive diagnostics, test planning, OBD regulations, and usage of industry-standard validation tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate component-specific diagnostic and OBD2/OBDonUDS/ZEVonUDS requirements.
- Create test specifications and test plans based on product, customer, quality, and legal requirements.
- Conduct component defect analysis and support issue resolution.
- Validate diagnostic functions and DTC implementations in the SiL platform.
- Work as a fully contributing member with independent planning and execution responsibilities.
- Apply sound judgement to determine and implement appropriate courses of action.
- Troubleshoot issues effectively and assist teams in identifying root causes.
- Propose and implement ideas to improve processes and efficiency.

Technical Skills:
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- a) Validation of Diagnostics/OBD2 requirements in vehicle, HIL, or SiL
- b) Specification or certification of OBD2 requirements for ECUs
- c) Calibration of OBD2 or diagnostic parameters for vehicles
- Knowledge of protocols: CAN, UDS, FlexRay
- Knowledge of topics: Diagnostics, OBD, CARB regulations
- Understanding of automotive components such as transmission, electric drive systems, battery chargers, and HV components
Nice to Have:
- Experience handling OBD2 certification with CARB and pre-PVE vehicle validation
- Experience in HV validation on HIL systems
