Role Description
We are looking for an NVH Test Engineer responsible for noise and vibration testing of electric motors and vehicles, including End-of-Line (EOL) testing in a production environment. The role involves hands-on testing, data analysis, and coordination with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify and resolve NVH issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform NVH testing on electric motors across different speed and load conditions
- Identify noise and vibration issues related to electromagnetic effects, bearings, gears, and assembly
- Conduct vehicle-level NVH testing during acceleration, steady-state, and coast-down conditions
- Correlate objective NVH data with subjective vehicle noise observations
- Benchmark competitor vehicles and motors for NVH performance
- Execute End-of-Line NVH tests for motors and vehicles
- Support definition of NVH pass/fail limits and analyze EOL rejection trends
- Work with manufacturing teams to identify root causes and reduce repeat NVH issues
- Carry out FFT, order analysis, and basic signal processing
- Prepare test reports with clear observations and recommendations
- Maintain test procedures, SOPs, and related documentation
Qualifications
- BE / BTech / Masters in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering
- 3–6 years of experience in NVH testing
- Experience with microphones, accelerometers, and NVH measurement systems
- Familiarity with NVH analysis software and data interpretation
- Comfortable working in lab as well as factory environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with EV powertrains or electric motors
- Exposure to motor dyno or chassis dyno testing
- Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes
