Nutanix Engineer (Implementation & Support)

Job Summary
As an L2 Nutanix Engineer, you will be the primary owner of day-to-day operations and standard deployments. You must be capable of picking up a project ticket, executing the implementation from start to finish, and handing it over to the customer/stakeholder without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Implementation: Single-handedly deploy and configure Nutanix clusters (AOS, AHV, Prism Central) based on defined architectures.
- Lifecycle Management: Independently manage LCM upgrades (firmware, hypervisor, AOS) across production environments with zero unplanned downtime.
- Storage & Networking: Configure storage containers, volume groups, and virtual networking (OVS, VLANs, LACP) independently.
- Troubleshooting: Serve as the first point of escalation for complex issues; diagnose root causes for performance bottlenecks (CPU, RAM, Disk Latency) using Prism Pro.
- Migration: Execute VM migrations (P2V, V2V) from legacy infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V) to Nutanix AHV using Nutanix Move.
- Documentation: Create As-Built documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every implementation you complete.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 4-6 years in IT Infrastructure, with at least 3 years dedicated to Nutanix administration.
- Core Tech: Deep mastery of Nutanix AOS, AHV, and Prism Element/Central.
- Certifications (Mandatory):
- NCP-MCI (Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure).
- Operating Systems: Strong proficiency in Windows Server and RHEL/CentOS Linux administration.
- Kubernetes (Preferred/Bonus):
- Basic understanding of container orchestration.
- Experience deploying Nutanix Karbon (Nutanix Kubernetes Engine) is a major plus.
- CKA or CKAD certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
