Job Skills & Qualifications
Reqiured: Valid nursing license
A master's degree in nursing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adhere to all clinical setting policies and requirements
Preferred:
Clinical supervision experience
Desire to be a full-time instructor
Job Responsibilities
*Supervise a group of nursing students in a variety of clinical training rotations, facilitating their participation in care and treatments and evaluating student performance
*Communicate clearly and directly to students, clinical site staff and other coordinating professionals to ensure that training and expectations are understood by all involved
*Teach procedures and care protocols during clinical rotations including proper medical documentation and *coordinate with the clinical site to schedule nursing students to shifts
*Teach a course load of two courses per semester in addition to clinical rotation duties, and hold regular office hours
*Complete the required amount of CEUs to satisfy licensure requirements, participate in professional teaching development courses as assigned and update medical equipment training as needed
Lead clinical rotations in community health, pediatrics, gerontology and maternal health, informing the nursing program director of issues with students experiences at clinical sites
*Act as a role model for aspiring nurses and address students professional career concerns
