Job Description: Operation Theatre (OT) In-Charge

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Operation Theatre (OT) In-Charge to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the operation theatre, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, maintain patient safety standards, and coordinate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Operation Theatre (OT).
2. Ensure OT readiness, including equipment availability, sterilisation, and maintenance of surgical instruments.
3. Coordinate with surgeons, anaesthetists, nursing staff, and other departments for the smooth conduct of surgical procedures.
4. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and patient safety standards.
5. Monitor OT scheduling, resource utilisation, and staff allocation.
6. Maintain OT records, documentation, inventory, and consumables.
7. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and applicable clinical protocols.
8. Supervise and guide OT staff to maintain operational efficiency and high standards of patient care.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Educational Qualification: B.Sc.
• Experience: 10–15 years of relevant experience in Operation Theatre management or supervision.
• Strong knowledge of OT protocols, sterilisation procedures, infection control, and surgical safety.
• Good team management, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage OT operations efficiently in a hospital environment.
