Job Description

Nursing Informatics Specialist (AI Training)

About The Role

Your clinical knowledge is more valuable than you think — beyond the bedside. We're looking for Registered Nurses and clinical informatics professionals to help train and evaluate AI systems designed for healthcare environments. You'll bring real-world nursing expertise to ensure AI understands clinical workflows, documentation, and the nuances of patient care.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your frontline experience directly shapes how AI tools are built for the next generation of healthcare.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Apply your clinical expertise to evaluate AI-generated healthcare content, workflows, and documentation for accuracy and real-world relevance
  • Review and assess how well AI systems understand nursing processes, EHR interactions, and clinical decision-making
  • Identify gaps, errors, or unrealistic outputs in AI-generated clinical scenarios and suggest improvements
  • Translate nursing workflows and informatics knowledge into structured, actionable feedback for AI development teams
  • Analyze clinical data representations and flag inaccuracies in how AI interprets or presents health information
  • Work independently and asynchronously — on a schedule that fits your life

Who You Are

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent clinical professional with hands-on patient care experience
  • Familiar with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms
  • Experience in clinical informatics, health IT, or clinical documentation workflows
  • Strong analytical thinker who can evaluate clinical accuracy and system logic
  • Clear written communicator who can provide detailed, structured feedback
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in nursing informatics, health IT implementation, or clinical systems optimization
  • Background in data annotation, quality assurance, or evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with AI tools or interest in how technology is transforming healthcare
  • Certifications in informatics (e.g., ANCC Nursing Informatics Certification)

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading research labs and AI teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — design your own schedule around your existing commitments
  • Contribute meaningfully to AI systems that could impact how healthcare is delivered globally
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with experts across disciplines
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
  • Put your clinical expertise to work in a high-impact, forward-looking field
