Job Description
- Supervision : Supervise and coordinate the activities of the nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals. This involves scheduling, assigning duties, and evaluating performance.
- Patient Care Management : Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by monitoring patient conditions, coordinating and participating in patient assessments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to create and implement care plans.
- Compliance : Ensure that nursing staff adhere to healthcare regulations, standards, and protocols. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant laws and accreditation standards.
- Resource Management : Manage staffing levels, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient and effective nursing unit operations. This includes budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory control.
- Training and Development : Provide training and professional development opportunities for nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
- Patient and Family Communication : Maintain open and effective communication with patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing information about care plans and progress.
- Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as conducting regular audits, reviewing clinical outcomes, and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
