Designation: Development Engineer
Experience: 3-8 years
Location: Coimbatore
Qualification: Diploma/ B.E - Mechanical Engineering
Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Process Planning
Handle new product development from RFQ stage to production.
Prepare process flow, routing, and development plans for fabricated components.
Ensure feasibility of design based on manufacturing capabilities.
2. Fabrication Process Expertise
Strong knowledge in laser cutting, bending, and welding processes.
Select appropriate manufacturing methods and parameters for quality and cost optimization.
Coordinate with shop floor for process execution and improvements.
3. Feasibility Review & Costing
Perform feasibility analysis for new enquiries considering material, process, and machine capacity.
Support cost estimation and quotation preparation.
Identify risks and suggest alternative solutions during development stage.
4. Drawing Interpretation & Design Coordination
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
Work closely with design team for modifications and manufacturability improvements.
Ensure proper documentation like BOM, process sheets, and work instructions.
5. Trial, Validation & Continuous Improvement
Conduct trial runs and validate product quality during development stage.
Analyze defects related to welding, bending, or cutting and implement corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
