Role Description The NPD (New Product Development) Design Engineer will work on-site in Bengaluru in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative refrigeration and kitchen equipment products. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining product concepts, preparing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to optimize designs for production, cost, and reliability, as well as supporting prototype builds and testing activities. The NPD Design Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, documentation, and design reviews to ensure products align with global standards and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with experience in product development for industrial or consumer equipment.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, and the ability to create detailed engineering drawings and assemblies.
- Understanding of Product Design principles, including ergonomics, manufacturability, materials selection, and performance optimization.
- Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to refrigeration and kitchen equipment, such as wiring layouts, component integration, and safety standards.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience with sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and thermal systems is highly beneficial.
- Ability to interpret international standards, work with cross-functional teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing and design environment.
