Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Audits / Evaluations

  • Conduct onsite and remote audits in line with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Textile Exchange standards [Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), and Organic Content Standard (OCS)], and the Better Cotton Chain of Custody Standard. Primary focus will be South India, with potential assignments across India and abroad.

Document Review

  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-audit reviews of client documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Client Services

  • Coordinate and manage audit plans, scheduling, and the certification process for clients.

Technical Expertise

  • Develop deep understanding of certified materials across various sectors such as textiles, plastics, metals, leather, and paper.

Reporting

  • Ensure timely submission of audit and non-conformance (NC) reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Certification Body (CB) Portal.

Technical Support

  • Provide ongoing technical support to clients and internal teams regarding standard requirements and certification procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in a textile-related field (preference for Graduate Engineers in Textile Technology)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the textile industry, with at least 3 years in a certification body
  • Prior experience as an auditor in certification bodies is highly preferred
  • Proven expertise in GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, and Better Cotton standards
  • Completed formal training and webinars by Scheme Owners of relevant standards
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training Course
  • In-depth understanding of challenges in the textile industry in India and surrounding regions

Additional Requirements

  • High personal integrity and professional ethics
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is an added advantage
  • Willingness to travel extensively for onsite audits
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Experience using IT tools such as CB Portals for certification management
