Role Overview:

The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team supports the Mizuho U.S. Operations (MUSO) risk management framework through risk governance, analytics, controls, reporting and execution. Mizuho Pune is being developed as an integrated extension of the global NFR and wider Risk organization, providing scalable, follow-the-sun risk management capabilities across MUSO's Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB).

The NFR Lead will establish and lead the Pune NFR capability, provide local risk oversight, and partner with global NFR leadership, MUSO Risk, Business and Pune leadership to identify emerging risks, strengthen governance, and drive timely escalation and remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and Lead the Pune NFR Capability

* Establish and lead the NFR capability in Mizuho Pune, including operating model, processes and ways of working.

* Build and lead a high-performing Pune NFR team and help evolve Mizuho Pune into an active risk-management hub.

* Act as the senior NFR point of contact for the Pune site, ensuring effective connectivity with MUSO and global NFR teams.

Risk Oversight, Review and Challenge

* Provide first-level review and challenge of key NFR information, including risk appetite metrics, risk events, RCSA results, KRIs and other risk indicators.

* Use portfolio-level analytics to identify trends, anomalies, concentrations and areas requiring management attention.

* Support RCSA transformation, quality assurance and review of areas where risk may be under-assessed or control outcomes indicate emerging concerns.

* Coordinate risk actions, escalations and remediation to ensure timely closure and effective management oversight.

Governance, Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement

* Support the development of NFR policies, governance frameworks, KRI reporting, management information and senior stakeholder packs.

*Prepare and deliver risk insights, thematic analyses and management reporting to support senior management decision-making

Transformation, Analytics and Innovation

* Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate recurring governance, reporting and control processes.

* Enhance analytical capabilities, data utilization and reporting tools to strengthen risk identification, monitoring and decision-making

* Explore the controlled use of AI and advanced analytics to improve risk identification, analysis and reporting, ensuring outputs remain explainable, controlled and auditable.

Experience & Skills:

Required:

* 17+ years of experience in Non-Financial Risk, Operational Risk, Internal Audit, Risk Reporting or a related risk management functions within a global financial institution.

*Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline.

* Strong understanding of RCSA, risk events, risk appetite, KRIs, operational risk governance and risk reporting.

*Experience in leading and developing teams, including developing and managing talent

* Experience in risk analysis, portfolio review, risk assessment challenge and senior stakeholder engagement.

* Ability to translate risk data and trends into clear, actionable risk insights.

* Demonstrated ability to establish new processes, operating models or capabilities.

* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred:

* Experience supporting CIB, Markets and/or Banking businesses.

* Experience with global follow-the-sun operating models or India-based risk capability build-out.

* Experience in RCSA transformation, portfolio analytics, reporting automation or AI-enabled risk processes.

Success will be measured by the ability to build a sustainable Mizuho Pune NFR capability that provides effective local coverage, delivers high-quality first-level review and challenge, produces reliable risk reporting, supports governance and automation, and operates as an integrated extension of MUSO and the global NFR team.
