Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design and scale high-throughput financial technology systems. You will build event-driven architectures and integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into core banking services. This role focuses on creating resilient, real-time data pipelines for a major banking client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Event Pipelines: Build high-throughput, fault-tolerant real-time streaming applications using Apache Kafka.
- Develop Microservices: Write clean, scalable, and secure enterprise-grade backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Integrate AI Capabilities: Connect LLMs, predictive models, and AI-driven automation tools into backend workflows.
- Optimize Data Flows: Manage Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, and schema registries for financial transactions.
- Ensure High Security: Implement strict banking-grade compliance, data encryption, and secure API authorization layers.
- Monitor Infrastructure: Set up deep observability, logging, and tracing using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK. [1, 2, 3]
Required Technical Skills
- Node.js: 5+ years of deep backend development experience using Express, NestJS, or Fastify.
- Apache Kafka: Strong experience handling event-driven systems, stream processing, and message retention strategies.
- AI/ML Integration: Proven track record of interacting with AI APIs, vector databases, or orchestrators like LangChain.
- Databases: Expert knowledge of relational systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis).
- Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Testing: Proficiency in writing robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Jest or Mocha.
Preferred Qualifications
- BFSI Experience: Background building secure software within the banking, financial services, or insurance sectors.
- Data Privacy: Familiarity with financial regulations, PCI-DSS compliance, and secure data masking techniques.
