Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Java Technical Lead to lead the design, development, modernization, and delivery of enterprise Java applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on development expertise with technical leadership to guide development teams, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
The Technical Lead will be responsible for mentoring developers, reviewing code, resolving technical challenges, collaborating with architects and stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise Java applications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Drive application modernization initiatives, including migration from Spring Framework to Spring Boot.
- Lead Java version upgrades from Java 8 to Java 21, ensuring compatibility, performance, and maintainability.
- Support observability modernization by contributing to Splunk to Datadog migration efforts, including logging, monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and APM integration.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in solution design discussions and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards, security practices, and development best practices.
- Mentor and coach developers, promoting technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Support CI/CD implementation and automation initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum development practices and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in Java application development with at least 2–3 years in a Technical Lead or Senior Developer role.
- Strong expertise in Java, including Java 8 through Java 21.
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and ORM frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will be given preference:
- Hands-on experience migrating applications from Spring Framework to Spring Boot.
- Experience leading Java 8 to Java 21 migration projects.
- Experience supporting or leading Splunk to Datadog migration initiatives, including log management, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and APM.
- Experience in application modernization and legacy system transformation.
- Experience in the printer domain, including print workflows, printer management systems, printer firmware integration, or enterprise print services.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Knowledge of SonarQube, JUnit, Mockito, and automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and secure software development practices.
