News Producer – Business (English)
Job Summary
The News Producer – Business (English) will be responsible for overseeing daily business news coverage, managing content flow, and ensuring the timely delivery of news, videos, and graphics across all digital platforms (Website, App, YouTube, and Social Media) for Republic Digital. This role acts as a key bridge between the editorial desk, reporters, anchors, video editors, and digital publishers to ensure impactful and seamless business news coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Editorial Planning & News Management: Build and manage the daily business news lineup, prioritizing breaking stories, market updates, exclusive reports, and trending developments.
- Write crisp, error-free, and attention-grabbing tickers, headlines, and title supers.
- Create breaking news straps and lower-thirds for live and recorded content.
- Coordinate with editorial and digital video teams for real-time updates.
- Ensure accuracy, grammar, and editorial compliance in all on-screen text.
- Prioritize and package news updates quickly during breaking news situations.
- Content Oversight: Review and ensure accuracy, quality, and editorial standards across headlines, scripts, thumbnails, video packages, and social media copies before publishing.
- Real-Time Coordination: Coordinate with reporters, anchors, input teams, and video editors to ensure smooth and timely execution of business news content.
- Cross-Platform Publishing: Ensure business news content is effectively adapted and optimized for Website, App, YouTube, and Social Media platforms.
- Breaking News Handling: Manage rapid deployment of breaking business and market news with speed, accuracy, and strong editorial judgment.
- Content Optimization: Ensure all stories are SEO-friendly, engaging, and aligned with the editorial tone and standards of Republic Media Network.
- Monitoring & Analysis: Track market trends, competitor coverage, and audience engagement metrics to improve performance and content strategy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with editorial and production teams to maintain seamless newsroom operations and high-quality output.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in a newsroom, digital media platform, or business news environment.
- Editorial Understanding: Strong knowledge of business, finance, economy, and market-related news with excellent editorial judgment.
- Digital Knowledge: Familiarity with CMS platforms, YouTube publishing, and social media platforms including X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Speed & Accuracy: Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Communication & Coordination: Strong coordination and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Leadership: Experience in leading or guiding a team of desk producers or digital reporters will be an added advantage.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Business Journalism, or a related field.
