Summary of the role
(Re)in Asia is Asia Pacific's fastest-growing B2B publication. Established in 2023, we serve the region's insurance professionals by upholding the principles of independent journalism and prioritising the reader experience.
As part of our expansion, we're currently seeking a news journalist (contractor) to support our mission of delivering trusted and independent insight to insurance practitioners across Asia Pacific.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Report on news stories across various insurance-related topics.
- Write clear, concise, and factual articles for publication.
- Verify facts and ensure accuracy in all reports.
- Work closely with the News Editor and other journalists to produce high-quality content.
- Stay updated on current events and trends in the insurance industry.
- Use a Content Management System (CMS) / Wordpress and pipeline process in order to publish and manage online content.
- Assist in the creation of newsletters for distribution to our audience.
- Conduct outreach when appropriate to gather information, quotes, or other insights for articles.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a writer.
- Experience in news journalism or reporting is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency using digital tools for research and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Hours of work
Normal working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an hour for lunch .
