Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hindi News Anchor to join our YouTube news channel. This role requires a charismatic on-camera presence, exceptional command of Hindi language, strong journalistic instincts, and the ability to deliver news with clarity, authority, and authenticity in a digital-first environment.
As a News Anchor at 4PM News Networks, you'll be the face of our channel, presenting daily news bulletins, hosting live streams, engaging with our YouTube audience, and maintaining the highest standards of digital journalism. You'll need to be comfortable with the fast-paced, interactive nature of digital news delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Air Performance
- Present news bulletins with confidence, clarity, and professional poise during live YouTube streams and recorded videos
- Anchor daily news programs, breaking news segments, live discussions, and special coverage
- Deliver scripted and spontaneous content with accuracy and appropriate emotional tone
- Maintain composure and adapt seamlessly during live streaming and high-pressure situations
- Engage viewers with compelling storytelling, strong screen presence, and camera-friendly delivery
- Interact with live chat and audience comments during live streams (when appropriate)
- Adapt presentation style for digital platforms - more conversational and engaging than traditional TV
Digital Content Creation
- Host YouTube live streams for breaking news and scheduled bulletins
- Create engaging video content optimized for YouTube's algorithm and audience retention
- Contribute to content planning for daily uploads and live stream schedules
- Work with thumbnails, titles, and descriptions to maximize reach and engagement
- Understand YouTube analytics and adjust presentation style based on audience feedback
- Participate in creating short-form content for YouTube Shorts and social media clips
Content Development
- Write, edit, and review news scripts for accuracy, clarity, and journalistic standards
- Research and prepare for interviews, panels, and special segments
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and editorial teams on story development
- Contribute ideas for news coverage, special features, and program improvements
- Fact-check information and verify sources before broadcast
Journalistic Excellence
- Stay updated on current affairs, politics, economics, social issues, and breaking news
- Conduct live interviews with newsmakers, experts, and field reporters
- Ask probing questions that advance stories and serve public interest
- Maintain ethical journalism standards and editorial independence
- Handle sensitive topics with appropriate gravitas and cultural sensitivity
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with production crew, directors, and technical staff during broadcasts
- Participate in editorial meetings and content planning sessions
- Mentor junior anchors and reporters as needed
- Provide feedback on scripts, rundowns, and program flow
- Represent the network at events and promotional activities when required
Required QualificationsExperience & Background
- 4-7 years of proven experience as a news anchor (traditional TV, digital news channels, or YouTube news platforms)
- Demonstrated track record of anchoring news programs, bulletins, or live coverage
- Strong portfolio of on-air work (showreel/demo reel required - YouTube links preferred)
- Experience in handling breaking news and live situations
- Familiarity with digital content creation and YouTube/social media is highly valuable
- Experience with YouTube live streaming is a strong plus
Language & Communication Skills
- Exceptional command of Hindi - both spoken and written
- Excellent diction, voice modulation, and articulation
- Ability to read and present news in clear, conversational Hindi
- Strong script-writing skills with attention to grammar and style
- Good working knowledge of English (reading and comprehension)
Technical & Professional Skills
- Experience working with cameras, lighting, and studio setup (digital studio environment)
- Comfortable with YouTube Studio, live streaming software, and OBS (or willingness to learn)
- Understanding of digital newsroom operations and YouTube content workflows
- Ability to ad-lib and think quickly on camera and during live streams
- Strong news judgment and editorial sensibility
- Basic understanding of YouTube SEO, thumbnails, and content optimization is a plus
- Proficiency with news writing software, Google Workspace, and digital tools

- Experience with field reporting, vlogging, or correspondent work
- Personal YouTube channel or digital content portfolio
- Recognition or awards in broadcast journalism or digital content creation
- Multilingual abilities (Marathi, English, or other regional languages)
- Experience creating content for YouTube Shorts, Reels, or short-form video
- Familiarity with video editing basics (not required but helpful)
