This role ensures high-quality production, supports NPI builds, reduces defects, and improves manufacturing yields through data-driven process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Review PCB design files (Gerber, ODB++), BOMs, assembly drawings, and DFM feedback with design teams.
- Plan and execute prototype builds, ensuring assembly readiness and communicating risks.
Production Support
- Provide real-time engineering support to SMT and assembly lines for troubleshooting process.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production and quality targets.
Documentation
- Create and maintain process instructions.
- Prepare engineering change notices (ECNs) and support configuration management.
Process Development & Optimization
- Develop and optimize SMT, Wave, coating and testing assembly processes, solder paste selection.
- Define and improve assembly workflows, process parameters, and quality control checkpoints.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cycle time, and improve first-pass yield.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production floor exposure
