This role is responsible for creating cost-effective and high-quality solutions by applying basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts. The role drives cross-functional activities for component, supplier, and product qualifications, while also conducting tests and troubleshooting. The role contributes to continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with various stakeholders. The role fosters relationships with both internal and external partners for streamlined product development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Develops and executes reliable, cost effective and high quality manufacturing solutions for products through the lifecycle.
Drives cross-functional tasks and schedules for component, supplier, and product qualifications.
Performs test and troubleshooting to debug defective product units, sub-assemblies, and process steps based on established testing plans; validates testing parameters and summarizes test results.
Implements specified changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
Initiates design improvements and documentation with the R&D, Engineering, and operations teams to achieve continuous improvement.
Develops understanding of relationship with internal and outsourced partners for product development and manufacturing.
Applies foundational principles and contributes proactively to projects through research and data analysis support, providing regular updates on accomplishments and impediments.
Supports priority projects with direction, maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and sharing information via standardized reports.
Complete all product training requirements and recommend opportunities for internal or 3rd-party training that would increase professional skill level and value to the organization.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in product design & development, or a related field.
