New Product Introduction Engineer

About the Role:

Responsible for leading New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for precision sheet metal and fabricated products, including technical feasibility assessment, process development, APQP documentation, tooling planning, manufacturing readiness, and production launch. The role involves managing projects across Aerospace, Railway, Defence, and Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication sectors, ensuring seamless transition from product development to full-scale production while meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives

Responsibilities:

• Review customer drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop manufacturing processes.
• Prepare Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Routings.
• Define tooling, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing requirements.
• Work on prototype builds, trials, FAI, and qualification activities.
• Coordinate with Tooling, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Configuration teams.
• Ensure successful NPI execution from RFQ handover to production release.
• Support engineering changes, process improvements, and cost optimization initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 3-5 years experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
• Experience in Aerospace, Railway, Defence, or Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication preferred.

Required Skills:

• APQP, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, Control Plan, and Work Instructions.
• Strong knowledge of Laser Cutting, Punching, Bending, Welding, Assembly, and Surface Finishing processes.
• BOM creation, Routing development, and Manufacturing Documentation.
• GD&T interpretation and stage drawing preparation.
• Tooling and fixture requirement definition.
• Knowledge of AS9100, FAI, and manufacturing process validation.
• Strong cross-functional coordination and problem-solving skills.
• CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD).

Preferred Skills:

• AS9102 FAI documentation.
• EN15085 awareness.
• SAP exposure.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
