Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Assistant Manager NPD Engineer to lead and support new product development activities. The role involves designing, prototyping, and developing new products while ensuring efficient manufacturing processes through automation and engineering improvements. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and product development involving plastic and metal components.
Key Responsibilities
Lead new product development (NPD) projects from concept to production.
Design and develop product components, assemblies, and prototypes using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and procurement for smooth product development and launch.
Develop and validate prototypes, testing processes, and product improvements.
Work on automation and process optimization to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Ensure product designs meet quality, safety, and cost requirements.
Support tooling development, mold design, and manufacturing feasibility for plastic and metal parts.
Prepare and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
Identify opportunities for product innovation and cost optimization.
Troubleshoot design or production issues related to product development.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering / Product Design / Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
36 years of experience in New Product Development, preferably in plastic and metal component manufacturing.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Experience in designing, prototyping, and product validation.
Knowledge of automation concepts and manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of plastic and metal fabrication processes.
Good problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with tool design, mold development, or production automation.
Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and design validation processes.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
