Job Description

Grade & Designation : Sr. Manager / Manager – ME Non-Damper

Department :Engineering and R&D

Key Relationship - Reporting to VP – Engineering and R & D

Key Goals

  1. On time and First time right product development
  2. Flawless Production Trial Run (PTR)
  3. Resolve blockages in the NPD process, which are affecting On Time and First Time Right delivery

Key Activities

  1. Oversee and manage the end-to-end New product development process.
  2. Technical evaluation of RFQs received – technical and manufacturing feasibility.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.
  4. Working on technical estimations like strip layouts, press tool sizes, tool design concept, press tonnage, welding fixtures, etc.
  5. Review of the manufacturing process with Manufacturing Engineers for new products: Pressing, welding, assembly, and special tools for inspection.
  6. Candence to review Project planning in view of customer project line.
  7. Ensure completion of project on time and within budget cost. Timely and first time right completion of out-sourced tasks.
  8. Keep a watch on critical activity, technical and commercial. (CPM, PERT)
  9. Coordinate with different departments for resolving the issues obstructing project progress. Elevate the issues to higher ups in case the issues are not getting resolved at working level.
  10. Documentation for PPAP, APQP, TS16949, IMDS.

KRA

  1. First time right and On time project delivery.
  2. No engineering and process changes at PTR

Knowledge/Skills

BE (Mechanical / Production) with 10 – 15 years of experience

Sheet metal components, welding and assembly expertise in Product development.

Soft skill of working with peers, right time escalation and getting the job done.
