A leading tertiary-care clinical practice in the healthcare sector specialising in comprehensive neurology services, acute stroke care and neurocritical management for regional patients in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. We deliver evidence-based inpatient and outpatient neurology care with a focus on high-quality clinical outcomes, multidisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient neurology care, including history-taking, examination, diagnosis and longitudinal management plans.
- Lead acute stroke management: rapid assessment, eligibility evaluation for IV thrombolysis, coordination with interventional teams and post-thrombolysis care.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic and procedural interventions such as EEG, NCS/EMG, lumbar puncture and bedside neurophysiology testing.
- Manage neurocritical care patients on the wards and HDU/ICU, including ventilator-dependent neurological cases and status epilepticus management protocols.
- Develop and implement clinical pathways, SOPs and quality-improvement initiatives for neurology services; participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and audits.
- Supervise, teach and mentor junior doctors, residents and allied health staff; contribute to clinical research, case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- DM / DrNB in Neurology or equivalent specialist qualification recognized in India.
- Current registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Medical Council of India.
- Proven clinical competence in stroke management and neurocritical care in a tertiary-care setting.
- Procedural expertise: EEG, NCS/EMG and lumbar puncture.
- Ability to interpret neuroimaging (CT/MRI brain) in acute neurology contexts.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rota for emergency neurology consultations.
Preferred
- Fellowship or certified training in Stroke Medicine / Neurocritical Care.
- Track record of clinical research, publications or teaching experience in neurology.
- Experience with botulinum toxin administration for movement disorders and spasticity management.
