Teamware Solutions is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer with specialized expertise in Palo Alto Networks Firewalls. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting robust network security solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Firewall Management & Configuration: Design, configure, implement, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy management, Network Address Translation (NAT), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs - IPsec/SSL), and security profiles (e.g., IPS, Anti-Virus, WildFire, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention).
- Network Security Implementation: Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect organizational data and infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Troubleshooting & Resolution: Perform advanced analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of complex network and security issues related to Palo Alto Firewalls, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
- Monitoring & Incident Response: Continuously monitor firewall logs and security alerts, responding promptly to security incidents and potential breaches.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Conduct routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and health checks of firewall infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and stability. Identify and implement optimizations for security policies and network traffic flow.
- Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain comprehensive network security documentation, including network diagrams, security policies, and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
- Security Audits: Participate in internal and external security audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to firewall configurations and security posture.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT operations, application teams, and other stakeholders to understand network security requirements and provide effective solutions.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Palo Alto Firewall Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (Next-Generation Firewalls - NGFW).
- Network Security Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Security Concepts: In-depth knowledge of network security principles, threat landscapes, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPN technologies, and access control.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex network traffic, logs, and system events to pinpoint and resolve security and connectivity issues.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.
- Certifications (Plus): Relevant industry certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) are highly advantageous.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
